Kea

True stories that make
children ask for one more

Kea is a library of short, true audio stories for curious children of all ages. Real octopus escapes, islands made of bird droppings, money too big to move. Say good-bye to screen time.

Made by a doctor in Singapore for his own two boys.

This week's free stories

Why a Watch Can Cost More Than a Car

A cheap watch with a humming quartz crystal keeps better time than a masterpiece costing millions. So what are people really paying for? A story about tiny gears, patient hands, and the two very different kinds of value.

How Kea works

Pick a story, or let Kea surprise youEach story is about four minutes: one true tale, told warmly, ending with a question to wonder about together.
Listen at bedtime, in the car, anywhereStories keep playing with the phone locked. Auto-continue rolls gently into the next one. No screen needed after you press play.
See what they heard, and where it came fromThe Parent corner shows every story with its full script, your child's answers, and the named sources behind every fact.

Checked like it matters. Because it does.

Little ears believe what they hear. So we act like it.

Every story survives a hostile fact-checkAfter a story is written, an independent fact-checker is instructed to attack it: every name, date, number and mechanism. Stories are corrected until nothing is flagged. A story that fails never ships.
Every story is read and approved by a humanKea's editor, a practising doctor and father, reads every single story in full before it is recorded. Nothing reaches a child on software's say-so alone.
Honest about what is uncertainWhen history only has a legend, the story says so. Children can hear the difference between what is documented and what is remembered.

Questions parents ask

Are the stories really true?

Yes. Every story is researched, written against named sources, attacked by an independent fact-checker, and then read in full and approved by Kea's editor before it can ship. You can read the sources yourself: they are listed under every story in the Parent corner, and on each story's public page.

Is the voice AI?

Yes, and we say so plainly. The scripts are written, checked and approved by a human editor. The narration is an AI voice, directed scene by scene like a storyteller, and checked against the approved script before any child hears it.

What age is Kea for?

Curious children of all ages. The stories are short and clear enough for young listeners to follow every step, and interesting enough that the grown-ups keep listening from the doorway. No scary content, ever.

Does my child need a screen?

Only for the grown-up pressing play. Stories continue with the phone locked, and auto-continue means one press can carry a whole bedtime.

What does it cost after the free week?

One plan, everything included: US$2.99 a month billed yearly (US$35.88 a year, less than 10 cents a day), or US$4.99 month to month. Cancel anytime and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
